About me:
OWNER/ATTORNEY, LAW OFFICE OF HEATHER NELSON P.C.

Heather M. Beverly (formerly Nelson), a native from Minneapolis, Minnesota, earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1993. Thereafter, she attended Chicago-Kent College of Law in Chicago, Illinois where she earned her J.D. in 1995.
She manages her own Chicago and Bay Area-based boutique Entertainment Law Firm and represents a wide range of clients from independent, Gold, Platinum and award-winning music clients such as: the Thomas Dorsey Estate (“father” of Gospel music), David Balfour (songwriter/producer: T-Pain, Ciara, Anthony Hamilton) to Peachez, Inc. (Tyler Perry’s Theatrical Production Company); television and radio personalities, comedians and entertainment companies.
Mrs. Beverly dedicates significant time public speaking, lecturing and participating in panel discussions relating to entertainment law. Her firm has been featured in many publications, including a feature article in the May 2008 issue of Chicago Lawyer Magazine.
Her professional affiliations include: Board of Governors-The Recording Academy (Grammys), Advisory Board-Chicago Music Commission and Founding Member- BWEL (Black Women in Entertainment Law).
Mrs. Beverly is married to Anthony Beverly (drummer/producer and son of R&B legend Frankie Beverly). Together, they have formed Brantera Music Group, Inc., a full-service entertainment, production and consulting company. She serves as COO and General Counsel to the company. Their debut recording project “Silky Soul Music…All Star Tribute to Maze f/Frankie Beverly” features Mary J. Blige, Musiq Soulchild, Kem, The Clark Sisters and more performing hits from Frankie Beverly’s catalogue.
