   About Hobgoblin Music Birmingham
Welcome all to our Hobgoblin Birmingham myspace site. We were the eighth branch of Hobgoblin Music and opened in July 2003, at Birmingham’s Custard Factory. Since then the shop has grown in size and now boasts the largest selection of Banjo's, Mandolins, Mandolas, Accordions, Melodeons, Melodicas, Harmonicas, Concertinas, Bouzoukis, Ukuleles, World Percussion, Flutes, Whistles, Citterns, Guitars & Bodhrans under one roof in the Midlands. We also stock a range of more obscure instruments such as Bagpipes, Uilleann Pipes, Bowed Psaltrey, Bombarde, Chinese Ruan, Cuatro, Apalachian Dulcimer & Hammered Dulcimer!

The Custard Factory is at the site of the factories once owned by Alfred Bird, who received a knighthood for inventing custard in the 19th century. Over the last 15 years the once derelict site has been taken on by new owners, and already the Custard Factory houses music, art and drama studios, music and record shops, cafes and restaurants, and is also a popular venue.

As always, we offer you a unique range of unusual and exciting instruments from all over the world, as well as the best from British and Irish craftsmen. We have introduced many new lines in this edition, from new makers and newly discovered foreign sources. Every item is in the catalogue on merit, and we constantly review the range in order to be able to supply the best quality available at each price level. So give us a call, or visit one of our shops, and we’ll do our best to help you find the instrument you want.

We always do our best to be involved in promoting talent throughout the folk and acoustic world, this has been helped by the recent launch of our record label, Hobgoblin Records. We get the chance to meet lots of interesting muscians in the shop who cover a massive variety of musical genres, this site will hopefully give them the chance to become our 'myspace friends' and so provide an opportunity for even more people to hear their music.

Many thanks for doing me the honour ,
The songs on the profile are as fine as the
Merchandise sold in your fine shops and as good as the service you
provide, I admit I only make contact with Hobgoblin music once at year ( should be more often
I know ) at the Cambridge folk festival.
But I am never disappointed! So a record label, another quality service it sounds like to me!
