yes those shots are awfully close...the reason so many parts are completely out of focus is because the majority of those flowers' faces are <1" in diameter. they are very tiny.
contrasty / vivid cherry blossoms = i love taking pictures of stuff with the sun illuminating from directly behind it. i love that blacked-out look. I'm surprised there was any blue sky in that picture since the sky was most definitely not blue that day. it was milky and white.
as far as the spot metering....funny you say that because i leave it on the spot setting. huh. i obviously did something wrong.
Thanks for the tip on being able to flip my backpack around and use it for a table of sorts to change lenses! It's been a life saver! I'm about 8Gb in! Leigh adapter won't charge my batteries though! We may see just how good these nikon batteries are!

still haven't dished with my magnification lens attachment thingy and i know i should...but this week has been fucking nuts :(
i has a temporary # but "supposedly" it might be so temporary that i shouldn't give it out *rolls eyes* whatever. it was so much fucking hassle you don't even know. i cried and threw a fit. it was totally charming and attractive! :D lol!
i normally don't like taking / editing / posting the super light shots like that either, but i've been trying not to be a one-trick pony with the darkness all the time...sooo....you know. thank you :)
