It was about love for roots music the band Hoedown was founded in 2001. A musical community playing country, blues & rock was born and felt a burning desire to play and share the joy with the audience.
The first time the band played together was in Helsinki at the Taidehalli Gallery in Autumn 2002. The killer groove of the band drew the crowds, and the musicians heard it through the grapevine. All of a sudden the top Finnish artists got on the stage to answer to the swingin’ call of the band.

Wow! You guys have a really cool groove/vibe going! Man, I like it. I hear an acoustic "Eagles meets Dire Straits" kind of thing going on. So is Helsinki going to become the Nashville of Europe? Finnlanders definitely are the best when it comes to acoustic music consisting of guitars, fiddles and banjos.
