From whence was the behemoth forged?! A strange organism, Hogchild exists of and within itself, comprising the DNA of those who make up the band and the chemistry between them. Genetic detailing may be found mainly in the '60s / '70s blues-rock scene, with strands of all sorts of styles such as Funk, Jazz, and progressive rock. As to bands, one may think of Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Cream, Hawkwind, Deep Purple, Miles Davis.
Although the Hogchild may be accused of retro-ism, the band represents the experimental and forward looking musical ethos of the period that exists by a philosophy of unfettered creativity. The band is driven by a dynamic and energetic rhythm section and sent soaring, slashing, and stomping on its way by a creative and sometimes unusual guitar, whose sound can often be compared to '70s blues-rock.
Sounds Like
Hogchild sounds like nothing else except itself, although traces can be found of '70s blues rock, progressive rock, and other genres. However, the most recognisable element of the band is of power blues-rock reminiscent of Led Zeppelin, Cream, or Jimi Hendrix. Other elements you may find are a distinct love of riffage, extended solos, jamming, and experimentation with sound and form.
From out the mists of time . . . from a mystical time beyond human reckoning . . . a musical behemoth emerges by the name of HOGCHILD.
Well, actually, Hogchild was formed in late 2003 in Llandudno, North Wales, comprising musicians who have contributed to numerous successful local bands over the past ten years, such as KeaF, Pocket Venus, and Gotti.
Hogchild are currently arranging madness for 2008 and poised to pounce upon your unsuspecting ears! - They will thank you for it too :-) . . .
So check the listings . . .
If you have visited the Hogchild, please leave a comment on the music - all feedback will be much appreciated :-)

Pleased to virtually meet you! Thank you for joining my circle of cyber friends, for excepting the add and for sharing your Awesome Music with me. Take care have and have yourselves a relaxing weekend. Warmest Regards from Toronto, Canada.
It seems like years since the last Moorfest happened and to be honest I think the weather was very much a factor in whether people enjoyed themselves or not. Some thrived in the mud whilst others wept until their dads could pick them up. Moorfest is still carving an identity for itself and in the three years that it has been established I think I can say that the one thing that most people love about it is the friendly atmosphere, and this gig is a good opportunity to meet up with friends that perhaps you haven't seen since the festival, to make new friends, enjoy quality music, get a flavour of Moorfest if you haven't already been and also to talk to the organisers in order to give your opinions on how to improve the festival. We'll also be projecting your favourite photos that you've taken from previous Moorfests to create a live mashup that will adorn the walls of the Brudenell so please send them to bandsformoorfest@yahoo.co.uk and make sure that everyone in the picture is cool for you to use them like this.
There'll be much more to boot like gorgeous organic food, t-shirt stall, films and raffles to win tickets to Moorfest 4 which we're working on right now and aim to make it the best yet.
We really appreciate your continued support in making Moorfest what it is and hope to see you all there.
Greetings from Timeless Festival, Huddersfield. Thanks for the interest and support.
