Who I'd like to meet: Anyone who is a fellow Rankin-ite!
Yo Was wondering if you knew anyone that plays synth/drums/bass in the London/SE area? I have a backlog of London/Brighton/Midlands gigs and I'd much rather do them with a permanent live backing band. Any word would be appreciated.
So, Wednesday is the new Sunday. Which makes Saturday the new Tuesday? And, according to my calculations…That makes Monday the new Friday!!!! Which is just as well, as we’re playing at Cargo on Monday 18th May!! Come down!!!
Static Rain is a 2 piece band from the beautiful Yorkshire town of Keighley. Band members Tony Garthwaite and Jacob Barlow formed the band in 2008, driven by a joint passion for both electronic music and retro synths. The music they produce can be described as electronic pop with catchy choruses and memorable riffs that are prominent in all of their songs, making them popular with a very wide audience.
Following their initial success on MySpace, Static Rain continues to build a solid fan base and a strong reputation as a live act. The band is currently looking for gigs from June 09 onwards throughout the whole of the UK.
