Liz is obsessed with the Bouncing Souls. She also loves Johnny Cash, the Carter Family, the Gaslight Anthem, and Rivers Cuomo. Also if there is an angry lady yelling she probably likes it.
Robin likes music with a lot of beeps and boops, or if there is a pretty lady singing he will probably listen to it.
Who even knows what MK likes? I sure don't. But that's what she gets for letting Liz have control over this whole MySpace account.
Liz finally convinced her friends to be in a band with her, even though neither of them could play an instrument. Liz plays guitar and ukulele and sings.
MK went out and bought a bass guitar and as of my writing this, has played it six times. This is why Liz played all the instruments on all the recordings so far (with the exception of the electric version of Fuck on the Crumbs, on which she played the bass herself). That's okay though because MK will get better. So far she's written most of the lyrics to Spaghetti Party and all the lyrics to Fuck on the Crumbs. Liz is also working on getting MK to learn the ukulele.
Robin's involvement in the band wanes over time. He doesn't play any instruments but he is good at the computer so we keep him around when we don't understand what Garageband is doing. He also helps us write songs even though he claims to be tone-deaf. I still list him as a band member though for some reason.
The Hole Punchers will have more songs up in the coming months, as Liz gets better at figuring out how to do percussion in Garageband, writes some more words to go with all the songs she has on her computer right now, and maybe gets a better guitar. Maybe.
For now this is just a really convenient way for her to share unfinished song ideas with other people in the hopes that eventually they will become fully furnished actual songs at some point in time.
Make no mistake about it, we suck. But we're getting better!
FYI, if for some reason you want to download any of our songs, we have a page at Alonetone where you can do that pretty easily!
ALSO - MK and Liz are trying to start a fun, silly hardcore band but they need a drummer so get in touch if you are in the NYC area and want to be in a kind of ridiculous hardcore band that can barely play their instruments! All we ask is that you be able to keep a beat, you don't have to be a genius at drums or anything like that.
