   About The Holiday Formal (NewHoliday)

Joseph Bassa began writing songs throughout his high school career and shared the ideas of them with a revolving cast of friends lending their talents to record and perform these songs with Bassa. This is and was known as The Holiday Formal. From demos and tours, to breaks and and members moving on, THF stuck around the Saint Louis / Cape Girardeau music scene for an efficient 3 years (2004-2007). Then, for a very brief period in early 2008, the group renamed themselves to "The New Holiday" with, yet again, another set of new members, except for Kevin Fuwell remaining on drums to the project's indefinite hiatus on the first day of October, 2008. Bassa can still be heard under the recording title of Surtsey.

This remains as a tribute page to The Holiday Formal (and New Holiday) as an act of appreciation for the music and musicians' creative efforts in a dying and embarrassing scene. Listeners will always have a memory of what used to be. This was created by a fan.
