Heroes
I /
I will be king /
And you /
You will be queen /
Though nothing will /
Drive them away /
We can beat them /
Just for one day /
We can be Heroes /
Just for one day /
And you /
You can be mean /
And I /
I'll drink all the time /
'Cause we're lovers /
And that is a fact /
Yes we're lovers /
And that is that /
Though nothing /
Will keep us together /
We could steal time /
Just for one day /
We can be Heroes /
For ever and ever /
What d'you say /
I /
I wish you could swim /
Like the dolphins /
Like dolphins can swim /
Though nothing /
Will keep us together /
We can beat them /
For ever and ever /
Oh we can be Heroes /
Just for one day /
I /
I will be king /
And you /
You will be queen /
Though nothing /
Will drive them away /
We can be Heroes /
Just for one day /
We can be us /
Just for one day /
I /
I can remember /
Standing /
By the wall /
And the guns /
Shot above our heads /
And we kissed /
As though nothing could fall /
And the shame /
Was on the other side /
Oh we can beat them /
For ever and ever /
Then we can be Heroes /
Just for one day /
We can be Heroes /
We can be Heroes /
We can be Heroes /
Just for one day /
We can be Heroes /
We're nothing /
And nothing will help us /
Maybe we're lying /
Then you better not stay /
But we could be safer /
Just for one day
About me:
"As I thus get down to my right size and stature, my self-concern and importance become amusing."
-BW
"Most of my friends are married and making them babies,
To most of them I already died,
And whatever it is about you I've always hated,
Is something about myself I just couldn't hide."
-RA
"Poor little rose, beaten by the rain,
In the wind, in the gale, thunder and the hail,
Sometimes I feel like I'm going insane,
Without the numbness all the pain so intense to feel,
Especially now its added up through the years."
-RA
"All in all you are a very dying race
Placing trust upon a cruel world
You never had the things you thought you should have had
And you'll not get them now
And all the while in perfect time
Your tears are falling on the ground"
-Genesis, "Squonk"
"Theres a guy in my block, he lives for rock
He plays records day and night
And when he feels down, he puts some rock n roll on
And it makes him feel alright
And when he feels the world is closing in
He turns his stereo way up high."

thanks for the link and the tip! honestly, i haven't listened to him since I got the Replacements album, "Let it Be" a few years ago. But you just reminded me how awesome Paul Westerberg is. Listen to the song,"Satisfied" and tell me that you don't think Ryan Adams was influenced by that. p. s Courtney Love is a cunt hole
Jack, I wanted to foward you this e-mail I got about Ryan Adams vs. Courtney Love, but I don't know your e-mail address, so I just sent the message to you through here. You should read it!
JC, What have you been up to? Long time since I said hey. I hope everything is going great. I only have 9 weeks until Hannah arrives. I am sure they will go by fast. Take care of yourself:) Miss you.
Did you catch the show last night man? It was such an incredible performance. I had no idea Tom Waits was that much of a character, that animated, and had that much of a stage presence...
oh yeah, I just started a music myspace page if your interested. It is myspace. com/wesleydoddmusic I can only post six songs at once, so I'll try to change em out evry week or so, since I've got a descent collection of songs these days and I keep cranking em out and have no intention of quitting soon. by the way, Wesley Dodd is my stage name...
well said Jack, all Hail Ryan Adams, for real. oh, I was wrong about my whole family sitting together. I guess nobody pulled any strings. We are all going, just 2 seats at a time, I'm sure I'll end up sittin with my Pops since I'm the only one in the Fam Spouseless. I play every Tuesday night up at the Blind Mule downtown. Chad Noblet is in town right now and he is going to come play lead on a song we wrote together years ago. ALSO, we are going to cover Tom Wait's song, "Jockey Full of Bourbon" off of Rain Dogs. I'm pretty stoked to do it. I always only do originals, never covers, don't won't to sabatoge anyones voice, but I feel like I'm in the clear singin' Tom Waits, so I'm pretty stoked. Good to hear from you buddy. Did you ever check into that book i was telling you about, "Autobiography of a Yogi"?
yeah I'm going to Tom Waits. My whole family is actually going together. Even though my mom has never listened to music in her whole life, And then there's my Dad, who claims he loves Tom Waits, even though he hates everything but "His early stuff" and by early stuff he means one album, "Closing Time", and rightfully so, how could anyone deny that album as being good? I'd be lying to say I myself have deeply explored all of Tom Waits' albums through the years, but I do still have and occasionally listen to everything Chad Noblet ever burned for me in Auburn. And i imagene I am about to re-explore those albums before Waits plays here. It was my brother, Howell's idea to get tickets as a family since it is one artist that no-one in the family hates, and also, he said it be a good idea for the whole family to get together and do something to start out the weekend of July 4th. I wanted to go in the first place. Then finding out I wasn't paying for my ticket sounded great, then finding out and realizing how often(not often at all) Tom Waits tours, and realizing that this was my once and only lifetime chance to see a legend... Anyways, yeah I'm going and lookng foward to it. There was a ticket limit so I don't know how my dad pulled off getting 7 tickets, but he pulled some strings i guess. Maybe I'll see you there dude? By the way, I remember seeing you at the Ryan Adams show, I want to ask you something, Did you enjoy that show? Or am I the only one who really enjoyed it? Maybe I really enjoyed it because I had already seen him twice in Atlanta where he played an much more acoustic gig where he also played the piano, and played all the songs everybody wanted to hear which he seemed to puposely avoid doing in Atlanta, and I don't diss him for that, even though, I do understand why critics and others call him a "brat". I do understand that he is an artist and he will do his own thing. Think about how aw
