About me:
HollaBackBoston is committed to the community blog project launched in September 2005 by “Holla Back NYC” to end street harassment. Street harassment is a serious and multi-faceted social problem. We believe that building a safe world demands DIVERSE INTERNATIONAL FRONTS of resistance. Dedicated to the city of Boston, this website continues to reclaim public space by empowering EVERYONE to “HOLLA BACK” at street harassers.

Whenever you get "holla'd at" or sexually harassed by some jerk in public, just *snap* his picture with your cell phone camera. Add our email: hollabackboston@gmail.com directly to your cell phone, and send the pics with commentary to us. We will post your story online for the world to see! We accept submissions from anywhere.

HollaBackBoston also runs HollaBackTALK, our academic, critically engaged arm which focuses on the deconstruction of street harassment and the social norms that enable such sexually violating speech and behavior.
Who I'd like to meet:
Allies: activists, artists, bloggers, hackers, writers, lawyers, web designers, feminists, politicians, students, professors, queers, social workers, divas, queens, kingpins, culinary geniuses, computer programmers, peaceniks, revolutionaries, rockstars, the guys who wear those giant suits in self-defense classes, people who yell "get a room!", folks who stop on red, femmes, the boy next door, urban cowboys, martial artists, punks, spies, gentlemen, and other social outlaws.

Whomever is responsible for this:

I think you guys are doing AWESOME work. I recently moved out of Boston, but remember all too well the street harrassment I experienced, although it was much much worse when I was a teenage growing up in NYC. Keep spreading the good word!!

Oh how I love Holla Back Boston :) now...an ethical dilemma: what do we do about the fact that only the relatively privileged can, in fact, holla back? if we are assuming the financial capability to have a camera phone (or another type of discreet camera)...how do we empower women who don't have this resource?
