About me:
Hollie Game Peek III was bitten by the acting bug at the young age of 13. Hollie began his acting career by participating in several youth acting troupes and local theatre companies in the Detroit area; including the internationally acclaimed Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit where he portrayed the role of Lysander in an adaptation of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream titled What Fools These Mortals Be. While attending Samuel C. Mumford High School, Hollie traveled the country extensively sharing his gift with numerous audiences around the nation. Upon graduating from Mumford High School and ready to take his training to a higher level, Hollie enrolled at Jackson State University where he majored in Speech with a concentration in Dramatic Art. Hollie was formally trained in the origin, history, and significant literature of the classic and contemporary theatre while being heavily involved with the Paul Laurence Dunbar Dramatic Guild and the community theatre group MADDRAMA (Making A Difference Doing Respectful and Meaningful Art). During his tenure at Jackson State University and as a member of these groups Hollie earned leading roles in several award-winning plays such as A Chorus Line, Mama I Want To Sing, Livin' Fat, and Before It Hits Home, and received many individual accolades and awards including The Paul Laurence Dunbar Best Actor Award. Completing his degree at Jackson State University in 2003, Hollie shortly thereafter relocated to Atlanta where he performed in several hit stage plays including August Wilson's Two Trains Running, where he received rave reviews for his portrayal of Hambone. Deciding it was time to branch out and try something new, Hollie began to focus his attention on films and landed roles in three independent movies, gaining his first lead film role as Keith in the feature film VOID, written by Donnie Leaphart. After taking a small break and relocating to the west coast, Hollie is back to doing what he loves and currently resides in the Los Angeles area where he maintains a budding acting career. Recently Hollie has taken on a new endeavor as co-creator and producer of the groundbreaking documentary, Almost Famous. Feeling the lack of true understanding in today's society for those pursuing careers in the creative arts, the Almost Famous series was born. Almost Famous is the brainchild of long-time friends Wilton Wallace II (Plex Long) and Hollie Game Peek III, who while reflecting upon their accomplished goals, ambitions, and achievements in the entertainment industry one night, agreed that documentation would be the best way to chronicle their continued journey. Almost Famous was created to give artists an opportunity to share their stories and their talents while simultaneously introducing them to a world wide audience of new and appreciative listeners. In February 2009, Hollie made his Los Angeles stage debut in Attraction/Logic: A Performance Event presented by Theatre Unleashed in which he performed several pieces he wrote. A show like no other, "Attraction/Logic" brought together artists from a number of fields (actors, writers, painters, singers, dancers, musicians and even scientists) to explore the question: Where do Attraction and Logic intersect in our brains and bodies? This eclectic bunch presented what they discovered through music, dance, theatre pieces, art installations, performance art and human experiments at the NoHo Art Gallery in North Hollywood, weaving together stories of love, loss and anything and everything in between.
