Bio
.. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .................... .. .. .. Hollowbody Hellraisers is based out of Gainesville Florida and is assembled of four diverse musicians who have made their mark in various other bands before coming together to form this killer collaboration. Andrew has rocked in the band Empty Fifth which took Gainesville by storm being one the only rockabilly bands to form in this town. Vinnie has played guitar in such bands as The Night Train Murders, Suicide Bombs, and then played upright bass and sang for Sultans Of Sin. John comes from a strong, primarily punk rock background with strong Rythm & Blues influence, playing in such bands as The Worst, Subject, Sea Sick Sailors, Beyond Therapy, Man in a Trap, and The Breaks. Steve has played drums for a few punk rock bands including The Night Train Murders, Suicide Bombs, and Shithouse Bowlers. With proficient musical ability, and a one of a kind stage presence, expect the Hollowbody Hellraisers to be blazing a path through a town near you! ........ .. Ol' Skool Rodz Magazine Issue 38 March 2010 Demo Review: .. .. .. ...... .. .. .. "What do you get when you combine the hollers of Rockabilly and the screams of Punk into one Gainesville, Florida band? I'm not sure but I like it. Self-described as Rockabilly with a pair of brass balls, Hollowbody Hellraisers (Andrew Alderson - guitar/vocals; Vinnie Dellucci - upright bass; John McGuigan - guitar; Steve Smith - drums) have put together four great songs. Things start off with 'Now I Know,' which introduces us to Alderson's youthful, yet wizened voice. It's a big musical bag of great lyrics, stellar instrumentals and perfect pace. Next up is 'Rockabilly Storm.' This ditty showcases the bands exceptional timing and rolling vocal range. What's really impressive is the bands ability to pull it all together into something stamped with its unique sound and character. Happy surprises continue with 'Took Her Life.' Alderson's voice paints in dark, rich hues that make somber themes oddly joyful, similar in style and depth to Johnny Cash, only faster and fuller instrumentally. Influences range from Rockabilly legends Dick Dale and Carl Perkins to contemporary 'Rockabillians,' The Stray Cats and The Reverend Horton Heat. The band is a musical mutt of sorts." .. .. -Richard Davis 2010: Ol' Skool Rodz Mag Issue 38 .. .. .. .. .. .. Renegade Magazine Issue 9 July 2009 Demo Review: .. .. .. ...... .. .. .. "Hair grease, switch blades, hot rods and attitude... The Hollowbody Hellraisers, four song, self-titled EPis a true rockabilly hell raisers! The first track 'Now I know' starts off with Vinnie Dellucci viciously thumping his stand up bass, setting the quick pace that sets you to tapping your toes through the whole CD. He's soon joined by John McGuigan adding his echoing guitar. Next up, continuing with the high adrenalin pace, is 'Rockabilly Storm' with Eric Bingham keeping time on drums and front man Andrew Alderson with his gritty vocals and guitar kick it all into high gear. The third track is 'Took Her Life,' a little ditty about tracking down a dirty little cheating bitch and cutting her down, kinda 'Kill Bill' in reverse. The final track on the disc, 'No I Don't,' keeps the paceto a rockin' frenzy until the very end, with a tempo that is sure to bring out the hell raiser in everyone! Over all this is a fast-paced hell raisin' rock-a-billy blast! Slap this disc into your rods disc player and put the pedal to the metal!" .. .. -Scharf 2009: Renegade Mag Issue 9 .. .. .. Runaway grooves compel accompaniment. Witnesses would find escape futile, if any desired it." .. .. -DC Larson: Rockabilly Mag Issue 46 .. .. .. .. .. ........ .. .. ........ .. ...... .. .. ........ .. ........ .. ........ .. ...... .. ...... .. .. ........ .. ........ .... .. ........ .. .. ........ ...... .. .. ........ .. .. ........ .. ........ .......... .. ........ .. ........ .. .. ........ .. .. .. .. .. ........ .. .. .. .. ...... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ...... ........ -
