"I’ve realized that I’m influenced by a lot. I didn’t start listening to music until I started playing it; which put me behind a few years to say the least. The more I hear the more I learn. I do know that I’m really big on lyrics. Some people can take the universe and condense it into a few brief phrases and a simple chorus line; others take the most simplistic concept, dive into head first and create their own world. I find the human mind fascinating and what better way to understand the mind of another than through the universal language of music? And then of course there is life, love and there are struggles. What better to pull from then what I know..."
There are several musical influences found within the music of HOLLOWELL. Listen carefully and you'll hear something from nearly every musical genre and generation for the last 50 years or so. The best music you've ever heard in your life! No, but seriously, you hear a lot of different influences with HOLLOWELL. There is a lot from the 90s alternative rock movement - so there will be some Dishwalla, some Better Than Ezra, some U2, some Smashing Pumpkins... but ALL good!
HOLLOWELL is Joe, Justin, Matt and Dusty. Together they've toured all over the world. From all over Sunny Southern California to Texas and Nashville, TN... ALL THE WAY over to South Africa as well as FOUR tours over seas in IRAQ in support of our friends and family in the Armed Services. HOLLOWELL has put out a few EPs, including their most recent work, Are You Waiting?, available for purchase at CD Baby as well as on iTunes.
HOLLOWELL brings so much to the local music table. With strong foundational influences in the 90s Alternative Rock movement, they have a familiar sound with QUITE a unique sound all their own. HOLLOWELL continues to work on new material and with each new show comes a brand new and exciting opportunity to share their amazing talents.
