First and foremost, I like to be with my family and my kids and make sure they are happy and having fun. I love to come up with lots of activities outside as playing Candy Land on the floor puts me over the deep end.
Music
I have a lot of tapes that work quite well on my Sony Walkman. I don't even have an Ipod yet, but my kids are working on me.
Movies
I love horror movies. Any kids movie fills that bill for me: Shrek, Shrek 2, Shrek 3, Cinderella, Cinderella 2, The Little Mermaid, Fairytopia.
Television
Any HBO series and ABC News World News Tonight. I used to be a Producer at ABC and I worked at that show. With all the Internet news bombarding us, I still think the evening news on television is the best place to learn what's going on each day.
Books
I read mostly non-fiction books. My all time favorite is Tina Brown's new book on Princess Diana, called the Diana Chronicles. It's been on the best seller list in the #1 spot for 3 weeks and she deserves it. And then of course Jon Meacham's Franklin and Winston: An Imtimate Portrait of an Epic Friendship.
Heroes
My husband who puts up with me.

About me: I live in Manhattan with my husband and children and have lived here since I was nine years old. Being a working Mom in New York is sometimes challenging, but a very fun and exciting life. I work at Newsweek magazine three days a week as a Contributing Editor and then I do my own book writing in a small library on Mondays and Fridays while the kids are in school. I have seen great, hilarious, outrageous characters around me in New York and they are the basis for much of my book about the rich in Manhattan. The Manny is also about a very romantic love affair between a mother and the help! It's funny and it moves very quickly and I hope you enjoy it.
