Movies, music, theater, reading, the arts, pets, camping, hiking, a bit of working out, a smidgeon of politics, smoothies and all kinds of exotic, flavorful food (Thai is my favorite).
I like everything from garage rock (The White Stripes, The Strokes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Razorlight) to Fleetwood Mac, John Mellencamp, Liz Phair, Marilyn Manson and Madonna. Especially Madonna, and don't give me any sh*t about it either. The woman RULES!
Movies
Going to the movies is one of my favorite things in the world to do, and I love to rest my head on a guy's shoulder while I'm watching one. Some of my favorite movies are The Color Purple, Lord of the Rings, Lost in Translation, Brokeback Mountain, Sideways, Mean Creek, Thelma & Louise, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and lots of Chinese cinema, Crash, Le Grand Chemin, Bridget Jones' Diary, Kill Bill Vol. 2, Nine to Five, South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut, Batman Begins (FYI, I'm a BIG superhero geek, though I don't collect comics), Team America, Grease 2 (yes, REALLY!) and (don't laugh!) The Blue Lagoon. And, of course, many, MANY others. This just scratches the surface.
Television
Current faves: Heroes, 30 Rock, Lost, Gilmore Girls, Scrubs, Entourage, Brothers & Sisters, Battlestar Galactica, Desperate Housewives, Veronica Mars, Slings and Arrows and The L Word. All-time faves: Arrested Development, Sex and the City, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, thirtysomething and China Beach. Lots more too.

Ang Lee (for everything he's ever done), Augusten Burroughs (for writing Running With Scissors), Ron Nyswaner (for writing Blue Days, Black Nights), Alice Walker (for writing The Color Purple and The Temple of My Familiar), Martin Luther King, Jr., Harriet Tubbs, Bill Maher (for opening his big fat mouth), all the great queercore artists and anyone who is openly gay as an entertainer and proud of it, Judy Shepard, Dixie Chicks (for understanding the REAL meaning of "patriotism") and, of course, Madonna.

I am an entertainment journalist and screenwriter who resides in Los Angeles, where I spend the better part of my time interviewing and writing about music and movie folk and sometimes even (gasp!) the porn business. My first book, Homocore: The Loud and Raucous Rise of Queer Rock (Alyson Books), is available at any major bookseller near you, so go pick up your frickin' copy! Now! And hey, thanx for stopping by, and check out my Web site, www.HollywoodKen.com.
Who I'd like to meet: I'd like to meet anyone who's ever inspired me or made me feel better about myself through their artistry, including Augusten Burroughs, Alice Walker, Carrie Fisher, John Mellencamp, Bruce Springsteen (the fuckin' BOSS), Bette Midler (just for being her), the Dixie Chicks (three of the coolest chicks on the planet), Bill Clinton and, of course, Madonna. I've already met Ang Lee and a lot of my favorite singer-songwriters (including Amy Ray). Hell, I even sold vibrators to Fiona Apple one time! Now THAT was an experience and a half!
Hey Hollywood Ken!!!!!!!WUUUUUUZZZZZZZ UUUUPPPP!!!!!!! It is sooooooo wonderful it is to have you in our family!!!!! We wanted to tell you how much your love means to us!!!!!! Keep spreading positive vibrations!!!WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!
I just remembered something. Many moons ago, I bought copy of your book - Ordered it at our little bookstore here in Elkins. And we had a plan that you were going to mail me an autographed copy - and I was gonna??? Well - I can't remember what I was going to do with my copy. What happened to that plan.
I also watched "Running w/ Scissors" today. For such a good book - I wasn't thrilled w/ the movie. But I am sure you have heard me say something along those lines a gazillion times - hahaha!!
Thank you so much for letting me crash! I had a great time out west, and finally getting to meet you!! I'm finally back home in Philly!! Hope I get to see you again sometime! HUGS!!
