About Holmfirth Live

A GROUP OF LOCAL MUSICIANS AND FRIENDS WHO LIKE LISTENING TO AND PLAYING LIVE MUSIC. WE WOULD LIKE TO MEET ANYONE IN OR AROUND HOLMFIRTH OR SURROUNDING AREAS THAT HAS AN INTEREST IN PLAYING OR LISTENING TO LIVE MUSIC. THIS IS AN OPEN MIC EVENING AND YOU ARE VERY WELCOME TO COME ALONG AND JOIN IN. HOLMFIRTH LIVE TAKES PLACE EVERY OTHER THURSDAY AT NUMBER 11 BAR AND RESTAURANT IN HOLMFIRTH (SEE 'UPCOMING SHOWS' FOR ADDRESS AND NEXT DATE). THE VENUE IS IN THE CELLAR OF NUMBER 11 AND IS ONLY ACCESSIBLE BY A STONE STAIRWELL FROM THE MAIN RESTAURANT. THE NARROW CELLAR HAS A STONE VAULTED CEILING WHICH ADDS TO THE ACOUSTICS AND ATMOSPHERE AND COMBINED WITH THE FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING 'REGULARS', MAKES THE PLACE VERY SPECIAL. SOFAS, CHAIRS AND TABLES ARE IN ABUNDANCE BUT IT IS TINY AND ON BUSY NIGHTS PEOPLE HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO SIT ON THE FLOOR, BUT STILL ENJOYED IT.....SO BE THERE EARLY FOR A SEAT!

NEXT GIGS! 4th June @ Bradford Playhouse (with Brown Paper Aeroplane) 7th June @ THE KEIGHLEY KRAWL (2.30pm @ New Variety Club) 10th June @ The Primrose, Leeds. 3rd July @ Keighley Catholic Club. (with cant kill the heat) 12th July @ Delius, Bradford. Static Rain is a 2 piece band from the beautiful Yorkshire town of Keighley. Band members Tony Garthwaite and Jacob Barlow formed the band in 2008, driven by a joint passion for both electronic music and retro synths. The music they produce can be described as electronic pop with catchy choruses and memorable riffs that are prominent in all of their songs, making them popular with a very wide audience. Following their initial success on MySpace, Static Rain continues to build a solid fan base and a strong reputation as a live act.
