There is no band. Holworks is an imaginary fictitious marketing concept of a band with songs that could be potentially played in public by a real band. These songs are just an experiment that happen to be something people like. They are real songs, composed by me, copyrighted by me and ASCAP registered though I did have help from Tom Mohler, Bob DuRocher, Ricky Sparks, Dion Thigpen, and Jeff Cooney on the Swift Water, Just When I Thought, and These Eyes For You. I made all of them up to gain music industry knowledge and fan likes/dislikes? Nah, cause I just like playing music and writing words - even if it is in Harbor Horn. Some people like to listen to it as I have a pretty vivid imagination. . .Someday Isle.
The Skinny - It's impossible for a plain yellow pumpkin to become a Golden Carriage or an ant to move a rubber tree plant Mark Holman.
It is more than impossible for someone with no musical background to achieve anything in the music business, . . . . I do feel famous to be on an MySpace Internet site with a plethora of new colored air to surround a soul emoting every syllable fused to note. This is my Soulspeak in many cases unadulterated, straight from whatever ethereal place music manifests. Porch songs, not recorded properly at all not thought of other than as an extension of who I am.
I did not start music to be ranked in lists or categories, or on billboard charts. Now that I am, it makes me feel good as I know people are listening, that I do make a difference, and that I can give something precious to someone that may help them to deal with something I had to go through. That in itself can make me cry, no tear jerker needed.
I would love for everyone to have a chance to listen to one of these songs as I may fit in their brains. Maybe there will come a time when that will transpire. Until then, I can only thank the Lord for giving me this talent and that I did not let it die unrealized with me.
