HNV from Luxembourg impresses me with their double album. First I saw that mighty artwork. And after the first listening I know that here grows something special. The band not wants a single hit to break through. This is a complex output, with 20 songs, one video and great artwork / packing.
The opener THE LIQUOR STORY is modern Rock with some Scandinavian Hardcore influences. A monster of a song! THE HORROR SHOW includes some Rock’n’roll influences and a mighty refrain. TOMORROW WAS YESTERDAY have some T(I)NC influences and JACOB`S PHILOSOPHY rocks! WHEN THE LEAVES.... and the ending SHE, HER PINK SPACESHIP AND ME are great acoustic tracks. Do you know THE LOST PATROL? Similar sounds. Awesome! Disc 2 is no filler material. It is on the same high standard like the first disc and with DEVIL TRAPPED IN A BOX they have a fast forward rocking track with some Stoner influences. Disc 2 features more the riff oriented material. THE MYSTIC COLOURS SONG or CONTRADICTIONS are killer and rock like hell. And with ACOUSTIC SONG IN G a great song end this double CD. All in all a mighty release. On TAKE THIS RIDE OR YOU WILL NEVER KNOW everything fits perfect and all small puzzle parts form to a huge masterpiece.

Biography:
The cornerstone for Holy National Victims was laid on a cold winter day in 1999. Charles and Francis discovered a mutual passion for rock legends like Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. Since both were playing the guitar, the next logical step was to form a band. Lucky as they were, they found an equal-minded drummer, Kim, and bassist, Arnaud, in their class. The perfect singer for HNV turned out to be Alain , an old kindergarten friend of Francis. Since this was everybody's first experience in a band they started by covering seventies rock songs to get musically accustomed to each other. Soon, they couldn..t repress the creativity and started to write their own songs. A self produced limited edition first album followed shortly afterwards, "International Vegetable Meeting" (2002). Jean-Paul replaced Kim after his departure to the UK. His enthusiasm and influences changed the sound of HNV for the better. It's only at this point that they felt ready to present themselves to the public. Their first real concert was at the Emergenza festival 2003 where they reached the finals, to everyone's surprise. This opened new doors and the same year they performed on the main stage of Rock Um Knuedler as well as at the infamous E-Lake festival. Although this was already a huge success for a Luxembourgish band they weren't satisfied just yet. The mission was to get known outside of this small country and prove that Luxembourg isn't popular just for banks, so they started to record songs at Charles' home studio. But, due to A-level preparation (talented and studious!) it took them longer than expected to complete their second album (although they like to refer to it as the debut album since it's completly different from the first one which was rubbish) With 4 members currently at university in the UK, Germany and Switzerland they don't have much opportunity to perform to audiences. Holy National Victims released their double album "take this ride or you will never know" on 13 September 2006 on Winged Skull Records.
