Fifteen anniversaries can virtually be regarded as a lifetime in any event life cycle – and it's especially true when the focus is entirely based on local (Australian & New Zealand) artistic talent alone. However, those 15 Homebake's have witnessed major international success for many of our featured musicians (& actors). So, in true celebratory style, Homebake follows up on last year's stunning & sold out 'Peace In The Park' extravaganza with a special celebration honouring those of have, are & will succeed - as we play host to a selection of our most famous local artists – especially those through the past few years whom have seemingly made a respected presence on international stages. Despite the changing face of the world this decade, we can all be proud of many within our entertainment industry for having placed international focus on the incredible talent within our own ‘backyard’ and for this very reason, HOMEBAKE 2009 will honour those appearing on our humble stages – as well as paying homage to the local entertainment industry as a whole. And now with great pleasure and excitement, what better way for us to show our respect as we invite the masses to join the local music film and arts communities at Homebake as we celebrate this birthday theme in the most appropriate and spectacular surroundings of The Domain in central Sydney city and starring......

THE HOMEBAKE STORY

You don't get a reputation for being Australia's premier all-local festival without actually coming up with the goods ... time after time. So, ladies and gentlemen, we present you folk on myspace the Australian festival famously known as Homebake.

Primarily, a youth orientated Australian music event created to present (& celebrate) contemporary music over a wide variety of styles, the Homebake objective is to provide an affordable one day outdoor festival that features an array of the biggest names in Australian contemporary music....and covering a plethora of styles including pop, rock, techno, punk, country, electronic, hip hop etc.

The international standard of live music performed at each Homebake festival, is combined with an array of information, awareness & market stalls, street performers, amusement rides, community issue outlets performance art, a celebrated Cinema Tent, cultural food fare & stalls - all melded together to create the perfect festival atmosphere.

Since its inception in 1995, Homebake has built a reputation as a premier music festival featuring the most famous contemporary acts from Australia and New Zealand. Homebake has given local performers (& the arts community) a very large platform which has now successfully blurred the distinction between international and local artists.

The event has traveled interstate establishing its popularity, although has now found it's home within the most stunning location of The Domain within The Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney City, Australia. Heck, Homebake has even been made famous having starred (as itself) in the Alex Proyas feature film, Garage Days.

Homebake has played host to a huge variety of famous contemporary Australian artists including CROWDED HOUSE, JET, NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS , POWDERFINGER , SILVERCHAIR , ALEX LLOYD , HOODOO GURUS , KASEY CHAMBERS , GRINSPOON , PAUL KELLY , RADIO BIRDMAN , THE GO BETWEENS , THE LIVING END , WOLFMOTHER , THE FINN BROTHERS , CUT COPY , SOMETHING FOR KATE , THE VINES .. and the list of award winning performers continues. Each year, Homebake features over 50 artists & DJ's across four stages and is then celebrated by the release of the now famous Homebake CD compilations

Celebrating its fifteenth year in 2009, HOMEBAKE has become the most famous & widely recognised annual 'locals only' festival within the Australia (and acknowledged around the world) - and once again will feature a huge array of names and special surprises come December 2009.
