Picture a warm, sunny summers day on the beautiful Kapiti coast. Where the sea meets hill scapes and untouched native forest. This is the place where Homefire Burning as a band first surfaced early in 2006. The formation of the band was somewhat unplanned but certainly not unwanted. Matiu Te Huki (vocals/guitar) met Troy Hunt (guitar) and after a few months of jamming with some other musicians, the energy and dynamic was complete. Homefire Burning is an eclectic group of like-minded musicians who bring the sound of organic, conscious roots & reggae music to the masses. The band will start recording their debut album in october 2006 due for release in Janurary 2007. The band has been gigging extensively during past 4 months and have appeared on The Good Morning Show & the north island live circuit.
