Aside from basic promotion costs ie flyers, posters, print media, the bands make the money!!! The bands help support one another, and the fans are exposed to different styles of music, which is the only way!!
We have hosted and have collaborated with the following groups in town in regards to festivals and events, Songwriters Showcase of America, The Blues Society, Goodtimes Productions, Fly-by-Nite Records, Kendi Photography, Turning Point Youth Collective, Tattoo Todd "The Scene", and Jahwanadem Productions.
In our strange fickle area, we have managed to take the 'battle' out our musicians mindset, and encourage an Original Music environment, and the promotions thereof.
Sounds Like
HERE IS A BRIEF HISTORY:
The Transfers entered a battle of the bands, being held at The Full Moon Saloon in June 2006. They were the only ones that showed up. After a few years of finding the same walls everyone else did for original music here, it was time to take a chance, being given one, to return a couple times, this time with decorations. The nostalgia of the past, created the vision of the future. Since they had already invited numerous bands to join them on live shows, it was only a matter of time when they would reach out. The Halifax Contraband, Secret Of Vessia, and The Mystery Fellowship soon joined in, holding there own, sharing the fans. The remnant's of The Burlington Breeze Project, Consider This, Doomed Clowns, and others, soon embraced the new "center" for these groups of people, who mainly have grew up in this area.
With the influx of new musicians, collaborations, and music scene volunteers over time, it only seemed proper to give everyone an audience, creating an environment of diverse music genres, and music fans that are open to feeding themselves with a kaleidescope of emotional food.
We are only here now to help, as long as venues cater, pay, and help promote, local Original Music
As long as musicians understand the place, the level they want to achieve, local, regional, or national, then we offer an opportunity for them to achieve just that. Bringing National Acts in town will bring in attention to our local bands that have attained a level of professionalism, so figure out what you want out of music.
For Promoters/Music Scene Volunteers, there is a music scene for all types of genres here in our area!
We believe in making a show an event, not everyone can attend all the time, keep that in mind. When it seems like its going well, pace yourself.
When it slumps, regroup, and sustain. This way we can all do it together :)
