The music of HGSS varies from downtempo heavy dub to uplifting sweet vibes of reggae. HG is also influenced by Istanbul as every artist that lives in this "Mega-city". The Homegrown Soundsystem also continued to play dj sets whenever J-bro came to Istanbul and Da-Frogg played opening acts under the banner of the Homegrown Soundsystem for big acts as The Wailers, Horace Andy, Zion Train, Asher Selekta and others.
