  • Bio

Homeland started up its engines eleven years ago and took the Midwestern US by storm with a unique mix of progressive rock with a Celtic twist. It was a 'first of its kind' band and quickly build a huge base of loyal fans. Forget what you knew about Homeland. 2009 brought a change in the band's lineup and the band's sound. Homeland is now a 5-piece, adrenaline-fueled Celtic rock show that sets the stage on fire with lightning-fast Scottish reels and driving Irish jigs on the fiddle, Highland pipes, Uilleann pipes, and Irish whistles. The band performs Celtic influenced original instrumentals and songs, edgy interpretations of classic Scottish & Irish songs, and Homeland fan favorites with a new energy that's blowing the tops off festival tents all over the U.S. If you haven't seen Homeland lately, get ready for a white-knuckle ride from the opening tune to last call! ..

Homeland's influences are various...and create a sound that sets us apart from the rest of the Paddy Punk / Celtic Rock pack. From classical to edgy celtic we get our influences from Beethoven and Bua, Led Zeppelin and Lunasa, ACDC and Altan, The Ramones and The Reavers, The Clash and Christy Moore, Def Leppard and Def Shepherd, Ben Folds and Black47, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Red Hot Chili Pipers, Chris Walla and Clannad, Frightened Rabbit and Fred Morrison, The Femmes, Gnarles Barkley, The Mahones, The Pogues, Bob Marley, Willie Nelson, Flook, Fred Morrison, The Chieftains, U2, Gaelic Storm, The Young Dubliners, and Flogging Molly, Kila, Afro Celt Sound System, MacUmba, Dick Gaughan, Michael McGoldrick, Snow Patrol, Muse, and The Bothy Band -- just to name a few. These are our influences. Our sound is distinctly Homeland. Join the crowd and check it out!
