About me: The Homeless World Cup is a world-class, annual, international football tournament, uniting national teams of people who are homeless and excluded to represent their country and change their lives. It has triggered and supports grass roots football projects in over 60 nations working with over 30,000 homeless and excluded people throughout the year.
73% significantly change their lives by coming off drugs and alcohol, moving into homes, training, jobs, repairing relationships, becoming football players and coaches.
The 6th Homeless World Cup arrives in Melbourne, Australia from the 1- 7 December 2008. Milano in 2009.
Vive el football!

This is the most amazing thing I've seen in a long time. As a former homeless young person, I can say this is the great idea to get folks involved and engaged in their lives and futures to channel their energies into somethng postive especially when the system (internally) is failing to address poverty, the right to affordable housing and the fact that so many young people are displaced. Thank you so much for doing this and for somehow finding me and friending me.... let me know what I can do from NYC to support. Not just for the games, but for the lives of the players after the games... in terms of moral support, organizations that help with legal stuff, housing, jobs, etc... whatever... let me know.
Many people have asked how they can help. At this time, what we really need is to get more people to know who we are and what we are doing. Please repost the videos and tell people about us.
Your support means everything to us.
