Homemade - Some folk for most folk Posted at 7:20 PM Oct 14 view more
About me:
Homemade is night of folky frolics and acoustic merriment. It takes place at the Treehouse (near the university on Great Horton Road) on the second Thursday of each month and involves music from eclectic acts from all over, vegan and vegetarian food, a lot of tea and cake and a couple of hours of mix CD fun. If you want to get involved, suggest acts/music, or want to know more send us a message.
Who I'd like to meet:
We aim to provide acts that fit somewhere in the mighty spectrum that is folk but, as lovers and not fighters, we are always open new bands and new sounds. If this sounds up your street then we would like to meet you.
Our new six track 7" ep Halcyon Days is now available to stream online for free until this gig! You can pre order the vinyl hard copy from our online shop. Costs £4 and comes with free ditigal download and free postage. Order online at:
We're having an ep launch party at the 1in12 Club in Bradford on Friday 11th September but if you pre order a copy, we will send it out as soon as they arrive which is an day now!
hey joe!, thanks for the kind words! kazoos are in fact the way!! and a staple diet amongst a particular breed of french gnu! let us know if you ever fancy some more mammal music down at ur homemade affair, we had a grand day out last time around, and we'd love to do it again sometime if you'd have us!! anyways we wish you well young sir..until the next time, bubble and squeak..eek! xx
GREAT ESKIMO HOAX Somewhere between the spasmodic mathpop of Youthmovies & the synth-drenched quirkiness of Cats in Paris lie West Midlands trio Great Eskimo Hoax, with vocals at once melodic & shouty cutting through carefully textured guitars, keys and insistent drum pulses.
MINNAARS Intense, danceable, epic: that Forward Russia's Tom Woodhead has been working as their producer gives an idea as to where they're coming from, but Minnaars add to that sound an incredible variety through the use of loops, unpredictable structures & duelling synth & guitar.
THE BLACKBIRD APPEAL Whispered vocals & thick, fuzzy guitars at the front; along with drums cranking the tempo up at the back, eking slices of pop out of a shoegazey-haze.
Hi Homemade, feel free to poster me back! Hope all's good with you
OUT NOW!
