Amidst the heinous sounds of what seemed to be an AFI cover band and the high pitched yelps of teenaged girls wet with anticipation, there I stood. Luckily, I wasn't alone. Newly found friends were by my side; Raffi, Tool, and David. Unfortunately, Mr. Zeita was not present this particular evening. He was, in point of fact, training with a pack of rabid wolves somewhere in the Valley. Anyway, the night pressed on with no indications of progress, excitement, or vivacity. My eyes peered for one of two things: a buxom broad or one hell of a drummer. At this stage, I was hungry for either. Feeling the dead noise between us men, I decided to bring up my inquires to the surface, secretly hoping for some kind of answer. Tool was of no help, he was lost in the euphoria of his finely polished nails and Raffi only talked about the Mars Volta. Finally, I turned to David. I asked him, "Hey man, do you know any drummers? Or maybe some whores?" He replied with a smile, "I am a drummer. And I know whores." The match was made. The next day, he met myself and Mr. Zeita at our makeshift studio and the rest is still waiting to become history.
