StandUp for Kids - Detroit	Jun 6 2008 2:21 AM Dear Friends of Kids, We hope by now you have received our email telling you about the StandUp For Kids 1st Annual Street Fair for Youth Awareness to be held on June 22, 2008. We are still avidly seeking all youth service organizations in the Metro Detroit area to join us on June 22nd to spread the word to youth about all the services that are out there to HELP them not become a statistic on the streets! It is only through the connections we make in the community can we together as agencies work to save our most vulnerable youth! StandUp For Kids is a national all volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing outreach and emergency assistance for at risk youth. Many youth in Metro Detroit are facing a crisis of issues such as homelessness, familial drug addictions, child abuse, gang related violence/intimidation and foster care placement. 13 children who turn to the streets to avoid home life issues will die on those same streets every day, due to exploitation, disease, crime and suicide. StandUp For Kids works to prevent that and one of the ways we do this is through our awareness events like this that let kids know about the people they can turn to for help! If you are interested in participating to make a difference in the lives of youth, please take a moment to fill out and mail in the reservation form located at http://www. standupforkids. org/detroitstreetfairreservation. pdf. Reservations are FREE for youth organizations that bring their own table, however, we can bill you for our cost ($10 each table, $2 each chair) if you indicate this preference on the form. If you are unable to attend, if you could print and pass our flyer out (located on our myspace page) to the youth you encounter, we would be sincerely appreciative.
