"Pop folk. Neo folk. Folking Folk.... [A] tasteful collection of quirky folk tunes and sunny-side-up live sets. It’s intimate joy with two harmonious singers, a guitar, and the occasional glockenspiel. Think Virginia Woolf meets Simon and Garfunkle in a Skittles commercial. Their sound is full of color and whimsical tales which come through ten-fold in a live environment.

"[Homesick Elephant finds] inspiration for their hyperkinetically maudlin ditties in Wes Anderson’s films and soundtracks, and those who appreciate the colliding emotions, precious British Invasion nuggets and unsettling pauses which are the hallmarks of those features will likely dig their sound." - Connect Savannah
"Simon & Garfunkel meets Mitch & Mickey... What sets Homesick Elephant apart is its sincerity. Songs like Margaret Thatcher Appleby and Shoestring Love Affair are sure to grab your attention and make your heart weep." - www.CampusPhilly.com

Homesick Elephant is an indie-folk duo whose heart-wrenching harmonies, old-time instrumentation and homespun sincerity make you feel like you're a character in a Wes Anderson Film. Sara and Kevin met in September of 2003 and immediately began playing music together. Their main projects have been Cheese on Bread and the Nace Family. They formed Homesick Elephant in the Spring of 2006 before leaving their home in Philadelphia to move out west to Los Angeles. In their little house in Silverlake, they sing together nightly after dinner while cleaning the kitchen and updating their myspace page....
It's really insane that we weren't myspace friends already! I could have sworn that I added you guys awhile back. Oh well, it's fixed now. We should do open mic night when you're in town if at all possible!

"The Cinema Bar is the oldest drinking establishment in culver city typically packed with people in search of great music and an unpretentious watering hole to call home. "
Thank you so very much. Let it be known that we love your harmonies also, as well as many other elements of your songs. We will perform in the show of which you speak on the condition that there is at least one hyena present. And if all goes ideally, the performance will take place on a train anyway so we won't be forced to make any tough decisions.
