About me:
Born in Antwerp (Belgium) in 1952, oldest of two brothers and one sister, I studied as a translator until I joined a catholic community, where soon emerged a vocation to the priesthood. So back to studies again! Philosophy in Paris, theology in Fribourg, Switzerland, where I became a priest in 1983.In 1990 my bishop allowed me to go back to France and preach retreats. This finally brought me to Martinique (FWI), where I am now involved in parish work.

My dear Fr Walter...
Consider the things of this world around you that seem full of evil. It is so very difficult to look at these things in any positive light. These things are not positive in themselves and they are certainly not God's desire, yet God is still God--bigger than all of the evil things put together. If we truly believe that, then we must also believe that He can take anything bad and make something good out of it. We can believe that the bad choices we make or even honest mistakes are not above His abilities to move them to a good and perfect conclusion. And even what may seem at times as a life gone sour, is to God potentially sweet. "But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive." Genesis 50:20 KJV.

Everything that Hinders:
Dear Fr Walter...God bless and have a week full of joy and love.
We wear them like shackles around our ankles, and often bear them as heavy weights upon our shoulders. Even when we try to take great care to keep them from heaping upon us, they seem so often to gradually grow—dragging us down—stealing our joy. They are the cares of this life and the sins that deceive us. They are the things that take our focus off of the Author and Perfector our faith.
The writer of Hebrews encourages us to “throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.” Like a runner tripped up by obstacles in his path who continues forward, we must find within Christ our determination to press on. "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." Hebrews 12:1 NIV.
