About me:
RichardDawkins.net

Hello all!

I am known as Homo economicus on the RichardDawkins.net, where I am a moderator on the forum part.

My main blog where I write about humanist and secular issues as well as cover the Atheist Alliance International Conference 2007 attended by Dawkins, Harris, Hitchens and Dennett can be found at:

My blog

Adam Smith fan (my picture) so in economics I follow the liberal classical tradition, interpreted in the modern Rawlsian sense. This effectively is a fancy way of saying capitalism designed to benefit the disadvantaged of society. The market serving us not the other way round.

Hello my friend! I was just reading around on your page, and I like it very much! I was however, puzzled by your statement about following in the tradition of maintaining the Smith definition of Laissez-Faire Classical Liberalism while paradoxically favoring a Rawlsian modification. How you can be for the invisible hand, AND fairness? That strikes me as odd since the very notion of totally free markets negates equality. It would have made much more sense to me if you had stated that you were in favor of a Nozickian modification, but then I guess that would alter the framework of your idea altogether, so I digress. I wasn't really looking to quarrel, it was just a question.

Cheers,

Hi there.

Thanks for accepting my add. I think I came across your profile from the RD forum or something like that. I'm a lurker on the forum, I'm more a consumer of information than one for putting my own thoughts down! I added you as I saw your pretty damn local - I'm from NW Leics; I'm guessing your probably a member of Leicester secular society as well? I joined last year, but so far haven't been able to make any meetings due to other commitments, got to sort that soon! Keep up the good fight.
