The list goes on and on...
Honcho was formed in 1998. The years before, Steinar Knapstad and Mathias Ingvarsson had tried out a dozen vocalists and drummers before they found Trond Skog and Kenneth Andersen who joined the band this year. Inspired by band like Black Sabbath, Kyuss and Soundgarden Honcho had great visions about the type of music they wanted to play. After a period with intense rehearsal and song writing they were in 2000 ready to record their first self-financed record, Evil woman EP. The EP was followed up with concerts across Scandinavia. Evil Woman EP received great reviews both national and international and the expectations attached to Honcho didnt drop when people found out that Honcho delivers 110% live.
French Water Dragon Records as one of the first records companies that noticed Honcho, and wanted Honcho to contribute with 2 songs on Water Dragons Greatest Hits Vol.1 Without further obligations to WD-Records Honcho soon accepted the offer. The cooperation went so well that Honcho later decided to release their debut album Corporate Rock on Water Dragon Rec. Because of artistic differences there have been made some alterations in the line-up, and now Honcho really have finally found the magic spell that makes them on of Norways most complete Heavy Rock Bands.
-I could stop this review right there without doing a poor job. Corporate Rock is simply amazing. I've had it for two weeks and just haven't been able to review it yet because tearing myself away from the CD player has been too difficult. This is quite easily the reigning album of 2002, not to be dethroned until I hear the new discs from Sixty Watt Shaman, Clutch, and Alabama Thunderpussy. But even after I hear those new records from three of my favorite bands, this one will still be up there, I guarantee it.
I just can't explain any further how much I love this record. An instant classic.

-I think they are much better than Nebula, more intense and the voice is not so bored and brings in a lot of variety and feelings. Honcho are the Kings of the fuzzy and stoned riffs. I don..t lie to you, the quality of this recording is fantastic and delivers a lot of fun. A CD how it should be. Loud, Fuzzed
Out, Hard Drivin , HONCHO. This year will be a good year for Honcho. A Must Have for every fan of Fuzz-Rock. KILLER!!!

-In a world of seemingly endless amounts of stoner knock off bands, the importance of distinction can never be discounted. Thankfully, through their collective songwriting genius and the Trond Factor Honcho have propelled themselves into the upper tier of the Stoner Rock set.
