Honey and the Greek
SOUND
Beats and breaths. Rock and soul. Now and then. Berlin is a magnet of sounds, people
and paths. Honey and the Greek was born in this creative center, formed by six
musicians of diverse places and sounds.
PEOPLE
Megan Bellanne, the Honey, is the voice, an independent chanteuse with emotional
weight. Born in Portland, Oregon, she!s called Berlin home since 2002.
Constantine Nicolaidis, the Greek, performs the bass, balancing the natural tension
between rock and soul. He hails from Jersey City.
Tom Marsh, drummer, lays the band!s rhythmic landscape of rock and R&B, easily
shifting between period and genre references. The UK-native also drums in the Berlin-
based band IAMX.
Ed East plays the guitar with a subtle hand, creating ethereal melodies over the band!s
beats, and under Meg!s breath. Ed is from [the UK, replace with specific location] and is
a member of Chikinki.
Kevin Lenear leads the horn section with his saxophone, and elevates the rhythm with
music that is nostalgic, melancholic, yet full of hope. The Alaskan also plays saxophone
for the band The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
Andrea Augustin!s trumpet augments the soul sound. The only member of the band
with German roots, she also plays trumpet for Berlin based Michael Knight.
PATH
Honey and the Greek released “Morelove” on the 8mm record label compilation “Shots”;
this song received airplay on Berlin!s Radio EINS. Their latest session was recorded at
Studio East, at the Funkhaus, Berlin. “Shake It Jesus” from this recent body of work has
received airplay on Berlin!s MotorFM. Honey and the Greek currently holds residency at
Neu bar and have performed at a number of venues in Berlin.
These new songs are great! I would happily give you money for some recordings. I'm not picky: Vinyl, cassette, 8-track, reel-to-reel, CD-R, mp3 Sure, I'll have to dig through the couch to raise the funds. Hell, I might even miss a meal.
