Influences
Honeyloaf is the creation of husband and wife singing duo, Jason and Wendy, and after years of wanting to get their musical skills out of the kitchen and onto the stage…Honeyloaf was born.
Honeyloaf is influenced from the era when early rock and rollers and country artists were sharing the same tour bus, this was music they were exposed to as small children by their parents. Simple and catchy. The fast songs made you want to get up and dance while the heartfelt ballads made you pull your loved one near. This is what they wanted Honeyloaf to be, pure, simple and from the heart.
When the decision was made to meld these early influences into their new idea for an act, the idea of Honeyloaf blossomed and unleashed some of Jason’s best songwriting to date. Their voices seemed to meld together, each helping the other to tell the story. Wendy even stepped out from behind the harmonies to show off her sultry voice in a lead role on “ring of fire”.
The wait is over…Honeyloaf is here…
Two part harmonies, dirty vintage guitar and a stand up double bass… what more could you want? Maybe a little banjo?…well… ok.

Our new 6 six song release " The Honeytone EP" was recorded at 1 ton Studios in Victoria British Columbia by Wynn Gogol. Besides engineering, mixing, mastering and producing these six tracks, Wynn lent his incredible musical talents to each of the recordings. His chugging bass, heart felt slide and banjo playing help round out our Honeyloaf sound. What impressed us the most working with Wynn, is that he did not just hit the record button and sit back. Wynn worked hard to think of the best ways to capture the sound we were after, and I think the end results show his craftsmanship.
Thanks Wynn,
Even though you've been Bad but Sooooo Good this last year, the Fat Man has a Special Gift for you in his Bag of Boogie this Holiday, so stay in touch and the Mojo will surround your Groove, which is a Blessing to us all!!
Hello from Finland! And sorry for my late reply. I have been busy.. You wanted some comments from me. Well, to me your music sounds just fine! =) It is made with a lot of heart and it is great. I was waiting a little bit more ass-kicking in that country tune that you have, but this is good music. I like it. =) So keep up with the good work! Rocking regards, Tanja
Already accepted. Not really the type of music I use to listen but I'm flexible enough to enjoy different styles. So congratulations because your music is pretty cool. Yet, anyone who has Mr. Cash and Mr. Costello in their friend's list is more than welcome! ...and I loved the name of your band...really sweet
