Dirty Mother Fuzz
Although Honeypot's cut-to-the-core sonic minimalism bears a passing resemblance to early-Nineties Olympia grrrl groups, the Austin trio's riff-centric songs owe more to Joan Jett's reconciliation of glam rock and punk. Honeypot certainly isn't the first act to mine this formula, but vocalist Krit Livolsi breathes excitement into the proposition with a commanding brio somewhere between Suzi Quatro and Michelle Pfeiffer singing "Cool Rider" in Grease 2. Guitarist Claire Watkins and drummer Andrea Minze are all business in their respective roles, assiduously avoiding flash-and-wank in favor of fealty to the song at hand. From deconstructing Led Zeppelin's "Misty Mountain Hop" on "Den of Sin" to paying homage to the rock of the Rising Sun on "Yellow Fever," Honeypot maintains steady levels of dirty, sweet engagement throughout their 10-song run.

The History of Honeypot
One year ago, a spaceship of love was attacked by bees. When the doors of the great ship opened, out came three Barberella beauties- naked and covered in honey. They picked up the first instruments they saw and started rocking faces off. Later on, the glamazons found a stow away in their time machine. Instead of killing her, they immersed her in honey and she became one of them.
