Sounds Like

"Honeytribe are in fact a band with absolutely no slack and who conjure up moments of real inspiration and strike the perfect balance between their own material and occasional dabble with judiciously chosen covers from the past. The most important thing to stress is that this is a band rather than a name with hired hands. Honeytribe are a unit who thrive on pushing their musical parameters when the moment presents itself, and last night was such a moment. An expectant audience from all parts of the globe probably did come in to check out the kid with the famous name. But what we actually got was a superb band who stand and fall by their own efforts."

   About Devon Allman’s HONEYTRIBE

Honeytribe was formed in 1999 in St.Louis, Missouri. Led by singer / guitarist Devon Allman they quickly became one of the top draws in their hometown and won the Jam Band of the Year award in the Riverfront Times Magazine Poll. Some recordings were made , small tours happened and then in late 2000 , Devon disbanded the group to spend time with his newborn son, Orion, choosing to stay in St.Louis and play solo acoustic shows and work on music.

2005 found Devon appearing on a top 10 hit in Spain with bluesman Javier Vargas. He was featured on the album "LOVE, UNION, PEACE" along side several veteran classic rockers. MTV Europe exposure followed with tours covering 15 cities in Spain , islands off the coast of Africa , Norway and Macedonia. Getting back into the swing of making music prompted Devon to "put the band back together." He managed to get the founding members of Honeytribe all back on board for this go 'round.

Summer 2005 found the members of Honeytribe woodshedding new material that would eventually end up on their late 2006 debut album release, TORCH. Hailed by critics and fans alike , TORCH sold well and was featured heavily on satellite radio. The band was even invited to perform in both the XM and Sirius studios , playing exclusive hour- long sets for each that were broadcast multiple times. Touring ramped up, and from 2006 to 2008 Honeytribe gained fans the old school way : in a van , almost 300 dates a year , 42 states and 10 countries.

During the years of 06 ,07 and 08 , Honeytribe was featured on many festivals, headlining tours, and on many radio stations and television appearances. New fans, like Billy Bob Thornton and Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, came and rocked out to the Honeytribe show in the Gibson tent at the Consumer Electronics Convention in Las Vegas. Gibbons sat in and jammed with the Tribe and that year also saw Devon being asked to sit in with the legendary Les Paul, The Allman Brothers Band, Dickey Betts, Keller Wiliams, Beth Hart, Billy Bob Thornton as well as being featured in Relix, Guitar Player,Guitar World and Guitar One magazines.

Word was finally getting around that Honeytribe was much, much more than just a band with a singer /guitarist of famous heritage. It was an idea.. a feel..a band with serious musicians who simply want to see good music live on and were willing to tour their asses off to serve it up worldwide.

Now in 2009, a trio has emerged. A power trio. With monster world class bassist George Potsos and new drummer Gabriel Strange , this 3 headed beast has been born. High energy , grooving , bluesy , ass-kickin rock and roll the old school way.

"We ran the 'Tribe format into the ground ! It's not OVER by any means but after almost 300 shows a year for 3 years , I just really wanted to do something different. We'll still play some Tribal songs but I can't wait to find out what a power trio feels like and work some brand new material ...we'll do a few months of touring in America and see how we dig it" -- Devon Allman interview October 2008 Detroit , Michigan.

Devon Allman may front this trio, but you can bet your ass that there's not a slacker in this triangle whatsoever. Do your self a favor, stop reading this and get online and buy tickets. It's a whole new ballgame.

Devon

Happy Belated Birthday!

Any chance you & the Tribe will be back in Wichita, KS
anytime soon?  We caught the show @ Sam's Place earlier
this year and are looking forward to being life-long fans.
Would be interested in hearing what your venue fees are
as we have friends that are in the Club Biz & would luv
to chat your band up to them & see if there is a possible
gig awaiting you as you pass thru our area.
