Honky Dub formed in 2006 by former Celtica members, Matty A (live synths and programing) and Phil C (bass). Aimed at producing a 'live feel' to psychedelic dub, to mash it up with heavy bassline while tripping away to hi fidelity sound.......upbeat yet ambient, fluffy yet grunty. Matt and Phil first met in December 1998 when Matt joined Celtica (a band Phil had been in for a number of years).(myspace/planetceltica)
The honkies were joined by Ali W.an old friend and accomplished musician.With the traditional Indian sound of the Sarangi,Ali has added another dimension to this digi-dub project.
2008 saw the release of the debut album'Lovely Dubbly',which has been well received and downloaded worldwide.
Noteable live shows include Eastern Haze festival(2007),Skanival(2007),Kulu-Bradford(2007),Philosopher's fair(2008),Shamania festival(2008).
Forthcoming shows planned are:support for Alex Patterson(the Orb)in October 2008 Norwich and Bearded theory festival in Derbyshire May'09(same bill as Dreadzone,Raja Ramm etc.).
A second album is planned for release winter '08/'09,watch this myspace!
