.. .... .. ........ Honky Dub was formed in 2006 by Matty A (live synths and programing) and Phil C (bass). The aim was to produce a live psychedelic / dub / world / electro sound on stage and in the studio. Matt and Phil first met in December 1998 when Matt joined Celtica (a band Phil had been in for a number of years).(myspace/planetceltica). Ali W. an old friend and accomplished musician who also shared a passion for electronica and dub became the 3rd member of Honky Dub bringing a new dimension to the digidub project with the traditional Indian sound of the serangi. Honky Dub quickly started to earn a reputation as a live outfit on the UK festival scene, playing at Eastern Haze, Skanival, Kulu, The Philosophers fair and Shamania to name but a few. 2008 saw the release of there debut album Lovely Dubbly which was well received world wide selling in the Uk, Europe and Japan. With a reputation growing Honky dub supported Alex Patterson from the orb on a leg of his uk tour and went back on the road in 2009 playing numerous gigs and festivals including the bearded theory and the out of the ordinary festival (ooto). 2009 also saw Honky dub team up with global roots label Urban Sedated Records who are releasing there forthcoming album Chaise longue, the latest album from the Psy Dub trio. Recently recruited to the Honky Dub team is vocalist and songwriter 'Lisa Portal' who has previously worked with the Alabama3, more recently touring accross Egypt with her band 'Portal' for the last 3 years, singing original material and conducting Tribal Bellydance workshops across Egypt, Italy and the UK. Honky Dub are part of the new breed of live electronic bands mixing elements of Ambient, Psy Trance, D+B, World music and Dub earning themselves a reputation as one of the most exciting new live acts on the UK festival circuit. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
