We are a band from Hessen’s highlands in the heart of Germany. You might know Hessians from the movie ‘Sleepy Hollow’, but we still have our heads on our shoulders…
Honolulu Breakdown is the name for our special brew of favorite musical styles. We think of it as a strong cocktail, one so potential it not just gives you a hangover but a complete breakdown - so responsible consumption is highly recommended at the beaches of hell…
Ok, not the best explanation for a lame band name…but who cares? You? We? Them?
The band started out in the late 90ies, so we're close to celebrating our tenth anniversary - hell, we’re old. In the beginning (and we are talking almost ten years here) it was meant only as a project of four speed freaks. Tim and Ivo are brothers, so they knew each other anyway. Fabi is the best drummer around, a skatepunk devotee and used to play in an oldskool punk band together with Ivo. Flo was Tim’s classmate, and after playing with him in a good ol’ school band, he joined Honolulu at the age of 14!
As you might have found out already, we are lazy bastards! It took us almost a decade to put up this myspace and to record our songs. But hell yeah, we’re from Hessen! We surely and dearly love melodies, harmonies and high speed songs, and we love bands that play this kind of music.
Tim and Fabi write the songs, Flo interprets them uniquely, and Ivo just plays whatever the f**k he wants. And that’s it…period!
The recording is almost done. We promise, it won’t take another ten years. But on the other hand…you know…we are lazy ass Hessians!

I would lend you mine if we lived closer. In Canada, well the snow is coming, has been here but has left (melted quickly). Things are good with me, turning 27 next week so getting old hehe. Greetings to all of you too!!! And thanks, glad you like my pic :D It's from Steyr, Austria with my friends in Never Been Famous. If you don't know them, you can check 'em out at myspace.com/neverbeenfamous. I think that Fab would blow me away on drums hahaha...

Hi Ivo, my dear little Hessen man. So the air and mountains are to cause for my impending crazyness. Then there's the beer which will surely make me chant IVO rocks all night long. Oh my. Haha I'll see in Nuremberg and Steyr/Vienna about the differences in accents. I'll also see The Michael and his german speaking tendencies. Being a Chancellor, you can get any benefit and gifts you want, don't be silly. I'm told that Hirter beer is the one that I'll have to try out! All these austrian dishes are making me crazy, has started already. *Takes note of the word to piss off Michael*. Your idea about moving away when saying that really shows how much of a leader and passionate man you are! A phone call will indeed happen hehe! Later man.
Thanks so much for your contribution to my ongoing investigation regarding The Michael issue my fellow HB member. I might bring a taser or a whip to control his urges. And I do have your number in case I need more last minute pointers. I think that the only medecine for this kind of species will be to talk about HB and punk in general. At least you'll know that if I did not come back from Europe this Michael character is the cause. In any case, alcohol will surely make me not realize all of the dangers in Austria which will surely contribute to my demise as ambassador (of Canada) to Chancellor Ivo from the Hessen region of Germany. If that happens, please accept my sincere apologies. Hugs.
Hey guys, I'm staying with Michael when I'll be around Vienna...that sexy man will provide me a punk rock ride from Steyr to Vienna and show me around the city. Any pointers on how to tame a Michael? ;)
