All the right ingredients needed to make a good Beer.
There was a time when 2 of us were "Truents", and another followed a "Code of Silence". Today, we're "Honor Bound Heroes".
In 2006, San Luis Obispo California became the meeting place for what would be the newest addition to the SLO-Town local Music scene.
Leaving the only home they have ever known, New Yorkers and best friends (former members of The Truents) Pete "Truent" Rivera (drums/vocs) & James Kuester(bass), made their way to the Central Coast in hopes for a fresh new start. It wasn’t long before they got the itch to find local musicians to form a new band.
20 minutes away, (ex Code of Silence) Mat Pinto(vocs/guitar) a former Fresno native now living in SLO, was also in search of people to jam with. A few craigslist postings and some myspace reply’s later, the three met for a jam, a
few beers, and some conversations of past band experiences. By the end of the night, they knew this was be the beginning of what would become something they had been waiting for a long time. Being veterans at what they do, the trio would find the name that would describe just who they are; “HoNoR BoUnD HeRoEs”.
After playing a handful if shows to well received audiences in SLO & Fresno, it wouldn’t be till a year later that the band would find it’s musical direction that helped the band to create their High Octane brand of Punk n’ Roll.
Brining together influences from: Stiff Little Fingers, The Clash, Rancid, Social D, AC/DC, & MotorHead (to name a few), HBH set out to make a name for themselves and prove that they weren’t going to be just another typical Punk band. In early 2008, their new sound and hard work would soon pay off, landing them opening slots for such groups as Punk legends “THE CIRCLE JERKS” & Hellcat recording artists “TIME AGAIN”.
In April, the Band went into Avalon Studios in SLO, to record their first album, "No Regrets". An album that would be released in August 2008 under their own label, "High Strung Records. Taking the name from one of their own songs, HSR would be D.I.Y All the Way.
The Music has Attitude, Energy, & Meaning. From personal experiences, to everyday happenings, Honor Bound Heroes believe in order to have great songs, there has to be Soul in the Music, thus bringing their arsenal of sound to every stage they play, and to every person that can relate.
The new songs = Awesomeness. No doubt about it at all. :) I love it I Love it I LOVE IT! Now hopefully my boss will allow us to have a show in the parking lot sooner rather than later.
Honor Bound Heroes is the next big thing in music to reach the young kids with fuckd up lives and looking for a source of hope and "cold hard truth" aplifies that hope with dangerous intencity we look forward to many years of beers with no regrets
