Formed in the hills of the Gatineaus in 2006, Hoodlum fuses traditional slavonic folk music on violins and accordion with tribal beats of the hand drums, as well as the electric bass and powerful vocals.
" Heavy grooves and ethnic flavours ~ Hoodlum, the seasoned minstrals and world travellers hailing from Wakefield and Ottawa are at times described as 16th century bohemian punk, devil's party music at others. Some would even narrow it down to Eastern European trance folk metal. Hoodlum's music touches upon Romany peasant roots with a modern driving edge."
Hoodlum's first album "Slavonic Trances" and brand new album "SHE" is available at many independant music stores in Ottawa as well through contacting the band ~ hoodlum@rogers.com
