| General | I love to be around nature. I am a workaholic as long as I can come up with something interesting to do. I always enjoy new discoveries and broadening my horizons. | | Music | Somehow I lost interest in music when it changed from acid rock to disco. Currently though I will listen to music with nature sounds in the background or African drumming. | | Movies | My most watched movie was Brother, Son, Sister, Moon. I used to watch that whenever I needed a spiritual lift. Although this should be back under music, the movie reminds me that I like Donovan. (Anyone know who that is?) | | Television | NBC's "Chuck", Of course? Also Monk | | Books | All time favorite "War and Peace". I am a book collector and have many interesting editions, including several sets of the complete Tolstoy. | | Heroes | Those people who stand up for what is right and at the same time are honest and display character. My anti heroes are those who I expected much from and show an absince of character. Example - Bill Clinton. It wasn't about sex, but rather about lying to me face to face on television. Actually most politicians can be put in this category. But I am offended much more when I expect more from someone. I didn't expect much from Bush, and that is pretty much what we are getting. |

About me:
I am a young guy trapped in an old guys body. Actually the truth is more like I am an old guy who occasionally thinks he is a young guy trapped in a body that is rapidly deteriorating.
But I did start young in Whitefish Bay, WI shortly after WWII. I played an active part in the sixties and never quite recovered.
I lived in the woods on a commune for the first 20 years of my married life, and then moved into the city (Eugene, OR) I haven't quite recovered from that transition either.
At the end of the last millenium I purchased a ski area that had once been grand, but more recently had been neglected. I made this change in my life because I wanted to spend time in the woods once more. Hoodoo operates a ski area in the winter and manages over 70 campgrounds in the summer, and it no longer is neglected. I am in my element once more. I have six kids, nine grandchildren and my wife still puts up with me, at least to the point that she hasn't moved out yet.
My life is interesting in that it is different than the ones most others live, but then whose isn't?
