the Networkers golf classic
The Networkers is having its 1st Charity Golf Classic to be held on October 1st, 2007 at California Country Club in Whittier. The Networkers is an African American Affinity Group at Southern California Edison, Our goal is to promote diversity and cultural awareness within SCE and our community through educational development, community partnerships, programs, and services that benefit southern California Edison employees, customers and shareholders.
The Lewis H. Latimer Scholarship Program recognizes and awards the
achievements of a diverse population of students attending schools served by SCE who want to continue their education.
Scholarships ranging from $500 - $20,000 are awarded by The Networkers through an annual application process.
The Lewis H. Latimer Scholarship Program was designed to enhance the future economic and social vitality of the State of California and the communities we serve by developing tomorrow’s leaders
Purpose
The Networkers Affinity Group is submitting this proposal to sponsor a “Networkers Golf Classic” for your review and approval. Golf has the same values as Education in the following areas; practice, respect, perseverance, with honesty and integrity all of the above will prepare our youth to meet the challenges of today’s world with confidence to achieve to the highest level.
Objectives
By hosting an Annual Golf event this will strengthen our community
involvement within the SCE Territory. Every year we will designate
A theme for the event and the proceeds will be divided into two parts;
1. The Networkers Scholarship Fund, this award is for a high school senior pursing Education in the following fields; Engineering, Economics, IT, Marketing, Communications, Business Development and Human Resources Management careers.
2. Donating a portion of the proceeds to one of the following; A School or Approved Organization within SCE Territory.

What’s the Summit? a 3-day long urban historical summit in Los Angeles, Ca that features several Great musical, Entertainment and Cultural events that will partner along with several organizations such as: The Buffalo Solders, Tuskegee Airmen, Concerned Citizens of Los Angeles, American Basketball Association Legends courtesy of Several Museums including The Jazz/Blues, Rock and Roll, Civil Rights, Museum of Tolerance along with the ABA (American Basketball Association), NLBM (Negro League Baseball Museum) multidisciplinary program of urban sports entertainment, culture, and its influences? That includes Visits to local schools, meets and greets press conferences, sports-workshops, exhibitions and banquet award style dinner. There will be an Announcement of The inductees the Hoodstock Hall of Legends Museum / Educational Center. A worldwide cultural phenomenon of athletics and Civil and Human Rights Movement that creates opportunities for the youth to express them-selves on issues related to urban-lifestyle and Culture, aspirations, society, music, sports, entertainment and culture.
