What is it that is so good about this? Everything. First class electro pop is a rare sight in this country. And Hookah did everything by themselves. Written, sung, recorded. And everything is so totally fresh. (Review in Danish youth magazine Frikvarter)
Hookah is the singer Line Gad Stausgaard and electronic music wizz Tommi Iversen. Between them they write the songs, performs them, record, produce and mix them and even remix them every now and then. Hookahs blend of electronic music and catchy pop tunes has definitely made them one of the noteworthy new bands to rise in Denmark in the year of 2005.
Hookah was formed in 2002 and struggled their way through the Danish up coming scene in the next couple of years. Their ability to write strong and catchy songs was noticed early on by several radiostations, who began playing the first demos from Line and Tommi in 2003.
The big break came when Hookah won the prestigious talent contest Starfighters in 2004. The contest is organized by the second largest Danish festival, Skanderborg Festivalen and among the judges were people from both national radio, national music television and the biggest monthly music magazine. In August 2005 Hookah released their first album: HOOKED ON HOOKAH. From the album the two first singles HIGH ON YOU and DISTANCE BETWEEN US was heavily rotated from national radio P3 and several local stations. The accompanying videoes gave Hookah access to several television shows.
Heavy remixes of the single HIGH ON YOU made their way to Top 30 on the DJ-chart and during spring 2005, Hookah played close to 20 gigs in clubs around Denmark. The tour ended with an impressive performance on the Skanderborg Festival in August 2005, where the duo was enlarged with drums, guitar and backing singers.
HIGH ON YOU was among the ten most downloaded songs from the Payload webshop in 2005.

It was such a culture shock to have my daughter start school and for us stand in one place all year but it's been a massive healing time for everyone and just as well we did stand still considering what has been manifesting!! It may seem so very hard at times but the difficulties are the mirror for the beautiful possibilities inside of us and between us!
