Hookahville is a two-day music and camping event hosted by the Columbus, Ohio group Ekoostik Hookah every Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. The popular jamband is turning heads and going back to its roots by bringing the original co-founder, guitarist/vocalist John Mullins, back into the band after his departure nearly a decade ago.
The festival is an all ages event and children 10 and under are admitted free with a paid adult. Camping is included in the price of admission, with primitive camping services provided: bathrooms, medical staff, ATMs, ice, and drinking water. There will be designated camping areas for RVs, quiet / family camping, and the handicapped. A wide variety of food and merchandise vendors will also be at the festival.
This biannual gathering began in 1994 as a camp-out on band co-founder Dave Katz's wooded land. Hookahville allows the band to create its ideal "no hassles or bad attitudes" playing environment and share it with many fine live acts. In the past performers included: Ratdog, Willie Nelson, David Crosby, Arlo Guthrie, David Grisman, Dickey Betts, Galactic, Jazz Mandolin Project, Leftover Salmon, Blues Traveler, Keller Williams, among dozens of others have played the Hookahville stage. Since their beginnings ekoostik hookah has independently handled every aspect of its growth.

I have to comment on the complaints. There are a lot of people that got "tied up" and that is why the scene was different. I agree with the whole Frat Boy thing. It has gotten a LOT better in the last few years. I really feel like it is moving in the right direction now, everything is going to be just fine. By the way, some, but not all, of those people who got "tied up" needed to take some time to get their heads together. They have problems and if they work on it they will get better one day at a time. I know, I've been there. We just have to band trogether and pick up the slack to keep the place clean and peaceful. Why complain when we can make a difference. I will set up a little get together at my site. You'll know me because you'll see my chick. She's in my videos, she's wooden and painted up all pretty. We can organize a little trash and chaos control. There is no point in talking about it, let's do something about it. Email me at jleister@woh.rr.com and we'll organize this.
Hookahville was my first festival in over a year, I joined the Air Force and have been in training and I wanted to Thank you. I got to dance on stage last year which was the best but this year was really good too. Love you EH especially my main man Sweney
im sorry, i had to miss spring hookahville. i fucking broke my knee two days before. i so pissed i was think forward to seeing the ranch again. I be at falls no matter or what even if im in a full body cast. ight peeace and love to all.
Hookah was fantastic. It was my first time at the Ranch, but hopefully wont be my last. The people of Hookah least the ones I met this year were as friendly and helpful as ever. I think that is one of my favorite parts of Hookah. Meeting the outstanding people there. =)
Great sets on Friday!! Unfortunately I had to leave on Sun. afternoon. Loved the music. As far as everything else, I have to agree with the lady who commented below. The trash situation was horrible. What happened to the fans who cared about cleaning up? And WHERE were the recycle bins? I remember these in the past. Did everyone just stop caring? I use to love the vibe of the ville. The music you boys make still has the spark, but the festival IS missing something that was there in the past. Its hard to explain. Its saddening because it makes me question if I want to keep attending. I love seeing you tear things up, but I can go other places and see your magic. I was also VERY disappointed with the VIP situation. I could have paid less to camp in RV and had the same amneties...NONE. I almost felt scammed. Nothing that was advertised involving VIP, was adhered to. Where were the expanded facilites? Sorry to express my disappointment in the festival itself, but constructive criticism will hopefully make it better!!! Keep up the wonderful music boys.
Nice line-up this year. I will give you that. I have been coming to Hookahville for over 10 years. I have not been so disappointed in the crowd itself. First, I think the hard core hippy crowd was missing. If you look at pictures.. there is a severe lack of dreds. This tells me that I was in a field with a bunch of weekend hippies and frat boys. Anyone of you can slap on a tie dye... but lying in the actions... It looked like hell after everyone was done with the field. You didn't even ask to keep it green and I saw no recycling.(I THANK THOSE WHO ACTUALLY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES BUT THE ONES THAT LEFT A MESS I AM DISAPPOINTED. YOU SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM FESTIVALS) Somewhere you lost your way and the fans that care about what they are doing. I had a good time but the whole weekend I felt that something was missing. That was it. You lost some really awesome fans. People used to go to the show for the show and then the drugs... It has turned tables on you and that is why your having a harder time controlling it. I saw security take a kid that was just fine away during Claypool. He fell and busted his ass. Probably got knocked off balance. That would confuse a person during the best of circumstances. Security demanded that he be pushed up front(which scared the shit out of the kid). Then they said he was fading(in fact he was looking at the dude like get off of my hand and let me watch the show). The security guy scared the shit out of a kid for falling on his ass. They took him away. He was not fading. He was keeping beat with Claypool... If your going unconscious you cannot keep a beat and dance along. Security made this kid worse. I have pictures of this kid minutes before and he was fine. I know you have to protect yourselves and try to keep some order. You used to have a crowd that helped each other out. Seriously... Look in your pictures and prove me wrong. Compare your crowd to some ten years ago. You'll notice the difference.
