Hooverfish
I began making music with Edinburgh band Babacool in the late nineties. After the fall of Babacool in 2004 I decided to go it alone. 2005 saw me produce my first EP "And Then There Was One' as Hooverfish before I completed my debut album 'Vacuum Pact' in 2006. From then on I have been collaborating with my old Babacool team mates and various other local musicians including MC Solareye from DOPE, Pippa Burnett, Ewan Beck from Ten Storeys High I also put out a couple of EP's and produced other material on Yummi Records. I'm currently producing work for Fresh 12 to license tracks for film trailers and TV series in the US. (check out 'The Switch' on The Dukes film trailer above).
Ten Storeys High
I am currently producing the debut album for Edinburgh 4 piece Ten Storeys High. The Band features members from Babacool and released their debut single 'Good Things' to critical aclaim (check the video below) earlier this year and earned themselves a 4 night support on the Scottish leg of The Proclaimers tour. I'm immensly enjoying the project, working with old mates.. and new. The Album should be out in early 2008.
Flash Callahan & Jalapeno Records
I'm also writing and producing tracks under the name Flash Callahan for London Based label Jalapeno Records. The first EP 'Do You Know The Truth?' will be out early in the new year and features three car chasing funk tracks... kinda!!
Spectrum Finally, I am also one of the promoters along with Vini Bonnar and Gavin Fort of Spectrum. A bi-annual festival of music and the creative industries held in The Queens Hall. Its a great event that last from 3-11pm on a Sunday. We've had some great acts play including Found, Amplifico, Bombskare, The Acute, Joe Acheson Quartet, Genaro... oh I could go on.... Its non-profit festival but I find it extremely rewarding. Hopefully this coming year it'll get the funding it deserves... watch this space etc..

“Powerpop indie is how they dub themselves, but there are so many influences filtering in here, it's difficult to pinpoint their sound exactly. Post-punk with an energetic twist and a knack for a melody. Theirs is a sound which is trying to resolve the conflict between the obscure and the commercial, and it's a musical tightrope they tread well. Check out 'The Way' and 'Beauty And The Grace' on their MySpace for a taste.”
