About me: The Hoover Volunteer Fire Department is located in Gray County, Texas. We operate out of two stations, Station 1 is on FM 2391 at Hoover, and Station 2 is on Chisum Trail Road one block off Price Road, just outside the West city limits of Pampa.
Hoover VFD was formed in 1992 by area residents with one grass rig. Since then we have grown to around 30 firefighters and 17 units including Fast Attack trucks, Brush trucks, Structure Engines, Rescue Trucks, Tankers, Haz-Mat unit, and a Mobile Command Truck.
We proudly serve the rural residents of Gray and Roberts Counties responding to every type of fire department need. We also respond to mutual aid calls in all areas of the Texas Panhandle when requested.
We have weekly in-house training throughout most of the year, and also attend training with other departments, area TEEX schools, and the Annual Municipal Fire Training School at College Station.
We are members of the Panhandle Emergency Response System (PERS), Sweetwater Creek Firefighters Association(SCFFA), Texas Firemen's and Fire Marshal's Association (SFFMA), and the Gray County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC).
