About me:
I am a survivor of childhood physical, sexual, emotional and ritualistic abuse. I am writing a book about my experiences and subsequent healing journey. I have a Web site that I've launched ahead of the hopeful publication of my book. I will include self-help ideas and exercises in my book and I have started this on my Web site as well: www.hope4survivors.com Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I am an identical twin. The bond and love I shared with my beloved sister helped me to survive very heinous and horrific abuse and torture and I owe her my life! I am also a Christian and credit my faith enormously with getting me through my PTSD and long healing journey. I don't prescribe to any specific religion, but I try to follow Christ.

Who I'd like to meet:
I'd like to meet other abuse and domestic violence survivors. I'd like to help others who are suffering and in need of healing. I'd like to share what has worked for me and lend a helpful ear and shoulder for those who need support. I'd also like to meet other authors, agents and publishers in the hopes of getting my book published. I already have about 20 chapters of my book complete and hope to submit my manuscript to interested agents and publishers by 2007. I am already a published writer in several different genres and will be happy to supply samples.

Also by taking a look back on our past, not only do we really see how far we've come but we're also reminded about all the obstacles we've overcome, challenges we've faced, and battles that we have won to get this far which shows us how strong we truly are.

May 16 2009 1:36 PM never take your life for granted because in one moment everything can change and the life that you once knew may not exist as you are left to pick up the pieces. Too many people take their lives for granted, assuming things will always be the same as they get so comfortable in their lifestyles. As survivors, we know not to take anything in our lives for granted because we've seen firsthand how things in our own lives changed and how it effected us. While others are out there, boasting about how great they are for thriving and surviving in life, we remain humble as we work behind the scenes to help others because we know that we should live life to the fullest each day and that life is not about taking but about giving back to others. Those who have to sit there and say how great and incredible they are for being survivors or how they think the world of themselves are the ones too self absorbed that they fail to see what's really going on around them in the world. It's not about how great or incredible we are for surviving and making it in life; it's about what we wish to accomplish and leave behind for others by which they can remember us by when our time is up. The question is, how do you want to be remembered when you're gone and what legacy do you hope to leave behind?
