Hope Takes Flight is a multinational social justice media collective.
We are film makers, we are musicians, we are photographers, we are artists and designers. We are fathers and mothers.
Through multi-media creative artforms we seek to tell the stories of those who have been rendered silent by the hands of oppression. We speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.
We create media content and special events centered around issues of injustice around the world. Whether in the red light districts of India, the favelas of Brazil, or the inner city of Baltimore, we will carry hope to those crying in desperation. Our projects will not be focused on the statistics, horrendous stories of abuse, and guilt inflicting realities of these issues. Instead, we will be focusing on the beauty, the potential, and the precious lives within these communities. We will restore a name, a laugh, a voice to those who have been rendered silent for too long. We want to speak over those afflicted an identity that shatters the lies of statistics.
Back home in the U.S. we will employ cinema, photography, music, and special events to stir the hearts of our extended community to stand together and fight for these lives out of love and compassion and not from guilt or manipulation. We feel that a man or woman who is compelled by guilt will give just enough of themselves toward a cause to appease their conscience, but a person whose heart is inspired by compassion will rise up and make a lifelong stand for justice.
We will create a place where truth is released, hearts are opened, and justice awakened in us all as we are given an opportunity to shape the destinies of these children.
