| Bio | Refreshingly FUNNY! Arsenio Hall stated it best, "Horace is like Sarah Lee,... nobody doesn't like him." CBS crowned this Detroit native as the new Star Search Comedy Champion and awarded Horace $100,000.00 and a development deal for his own show. Horace has the distinction of holding the highest score in the show's history, a perfect 20 stars from the celebrity judges and 19 stars from the live home audience.
Who would have thought that an academic scholarship to The University of Michigan School of Business, would produce one of the brightest and creative 'comedic' minds of this generation? Throughout his 10 year career, Horace has shared the stage with Chris Rock, Richard Jeni, Bernie Mac, Dave Chappelle, LeAnn Rimes, Anita Baker, and Alicia Keyes. He has paid his dues, performing anywhere a crowd could gather, such as wedding receptions, churches, clubs, corporations, schools and even a funeral home. His hard work paid dividends in 2001-02 when Horace was chosen to tour internationally with Sinbad. Though not a superstar, Horace H.B. Sanders has established himself as a 'Comedy Heavyweight.' Most impressive is his ability to adapt to his environment. No matter the make-up of the audience (age, gender, religion, ethnicity or credit score;) Horace delivers a performance that all can relate to.
In addition to Star Search, Horace's television appearances include "The CBS Early Show", "Christian Television Network- Live", "Comcast Comedy Hour", "BET Comic View", "BETJ" and the "Black Family Channel". In the fall of 2002, before reaching the finals of The Seattle International Comedy Competition, Horace caught the attention of television executives at NBC and CBS. In 2004 he delighted over 28,000 people in Atlanta GA., at Bishop T.D. Jakes' Mega Fest, hosted by Steve Harvey. In 2005, with over 100 college shows under his belt, Horace was nominated for Best New Artist in The National Association of Campus Activities (NACA). Horace's desire to help students and inspire higher education is evident by his many appearances in jr high, high schools and juvenile correctional facilities. Audiences agree that somehow Horace is able to make each performance a once-in-a-lifetime event.
