Formed in 2005 after a meeting between Lee Bradshaw and Richard Panaia, Horizon has since then been quietly recording their debut album "33 - The Blood from The Shadow" which is now nearing completion.
Honing their performance with a series of shows in one of the world's most isolated cities – Perth, Western Australia – Horizon now boasts a live line up that features some of Australia's finest rock musicians including Angus Burchall (drums - John Farnham band), Stuart Fraser (guitar - Noiseworks/John Farnham band) and James Ryan (guitar - Vanessa Amorosi). It was with this lineup that Horizon has recently completed a live in the studio DVD recording in Melbourne’s famous Armstrong Studios (formally AAV and Metropolis) at the invitation of legendary Multi ARIA award winning engineer/producer Doug Brady that will be available to view from the Armstrong Studios website (www.armstrongstudios.com.au/) in the near future.
“33 – The Blood from The Shadow” – a double album featuring 20 Horizon tracks including their version of the Led Zeppelin classic “Black Dog” – is due for release in November 2009. It features performances from some of Australia’s finest musicians including Brett Garsed, Patrick Reale, Quentin Edmonds, Stuart Fraser and Angus Burchall.
Horizon is currently planning a series of shows in Melbourne to coincide with the album launch in November which includes a performance at SpensersLive on Sat, Nov 21st!
