Hornography, cleverly named by world-class luthier Tim Scheerhorn's wife, Judy, was the brainchild of Georgia-based resonator guitarist, Jimmy Ross. He approached Grammy-winning producer and fellow reso-ist, Randy Kohrs, who enthusiastically agreed to help put the project together. All songs were recorded at Kohrs' Slack Key Studio, and all of the featured resonator guitarists were even recorded in the same room with the same microphones to deeply highlight the varying nuances. Soon to be released on Kohrs' Left of Center Records, Hornography will certainly go down in resonator history as one of the most spectacular compilations the instrumental world has ever seen.

This all started about three months after I purchased my Scheerhorn guitar. My wife and I were just talking over dinner and I mentioned a recording of Scheerhorn guitar players. She thought it was a cool idea. I kept thinking and talking about it just at home, then finally I went to my first IBMA convention in October 2007. We were at a booth where Tim Scheerhorn was, and when we started to leave my wife said, “Have you mentioned your idea to Tim?” He heard the comment, we talked about it and he said I needed to talk with Randy Kohrs, since he has a studio.
